“We’ve Come This Far by Faith”

Jackson Chapel UMC with AARCH Society. Honoring the legacy of Frederick’s African American Churches and featuring a presentation by Author Elayne Bond Hyman and her book “They Came Across South Mountain,” which is a love story of four generations of one family, free people of color living in a time when freedom wasn’t free. They survived the holocaust of slavery and Jim Crow America. This historic fiction is based on the lives of Ms. Hyman’s Frederick County ancestors.
